Raising Children

Raising Children started life as a television series for TVNZ (two series of 10 half hours each) in 2014 / 2015 covering newborn to primary school age. I pitched the series and with a broadcast commitment then gathered funding from various sources - from commercial sponsors and charitable foundations to well-child and early childhood education providers and various government ministries. Celebrity parents hosted different episodes, introducing expert driven content pertinent to the age and stage of their own children. 

Previous to the series, I had made a collection of short-form video content - of the same name - that was given (on DVD at the time) to every parent of a newborn by their well child health provider as a leave behind parent support video resource. This required working with multiple government agencies to ensure the content was on message and appropriate to be utilized by NZ parents.

The resource soon morphed into a digital help guide with fresh content added over time. The free to access, non-commercial, not for profit site now hosts c.100 short videos covering the basics of feeding, sleeping, child development, learning, and behaviour.
